Hungary might be loadsa miles from Aspern-Essling, Kev, but I'm jealous of how much nearer you are!

Hi Michael, i,m about 3 hrs drive from Wagram. I,m only having a quick jolly back to the uk this year so plan to have a good drive about the countries near me.
There are loads of museums here as they like to commemorate their battles , mostly with the turks but loads of later war memorials, and the revolt against the Russians is always good for a few bank holidays. There are odd bits everywhere, i was driving about one day and came accross two german field guns at an entrance to a small memorial and thats only an hour from me, towards Budapest their are more ww11 museums which i hope to visit one day. If i find anything of interest on my travels i will put a pic on here.

Guess you have to be quite selective with so much on offer. Given my Aspern-Essling project, I'd be off to check out the Marchfeld and be in seventh heaven. But if I was already in Hungary, I might have been tempted by a Hungarian project -- I have, of course, a pile of Hungarian Napoleonics to paint! And the 1809 campaign did get as far as Hungary.

Wow!  Brilliant.  What a heck of a lot of time you've put in.  Enjoyed it very much and lots of useful tips.
