Well-modelled and well-painted command figures really set off an army.

I got some 1809 French and Austrians for Xmas to try out DBN. Being a napoleonic newbie I was searching round for some background on uniforms etc and came across your blog. I've got to say I'm bowled over by quality, presentation and focus that you have put into this. It's great to follow your progress, and is very helpful and inspirational for someone starting on this journey. Thank you ! And keep going please ! ;)

Hi Simon. Thanks! It's comments like yours that do keep me going!

All my troop bases are the same size, just like DBN. 25mm square, though, unlike DBN.

Cheers, Michael

Thanks, Paul! Apologies for neglecting the WW1 Blog. I've been a bit busy with Napoleonics since August. However as I enjoy both, neither are projects I plan to 'complete' any time soon!

Excellent work on resculpting the bicorne, and the finger pointing work is top notch.

I love the work.

Post 177 is definitely thought provoking...

Quote2014 had been a disappointing year for new 10mm Napoleonics...  hadn't been a single new release from any 10mm manufacturer.
:o :o :o

Quote... that it was important to produce a list that reflected what could be realistically produced in the limited time (and in the even more limited time for painting the figures) before the bicentenary in June 2015.

It appears that the Waterloo bicentenary has been an opportunity missed by all the 10mm manufacturers :-\ :(

There are at least three existing 10mm ranges of British Napoleonics: Old Glory, Magister Millitum, and the old Flashing Blade range produced by Si at Bend Sinister. My Blog contains examples of all three manufacturers' figures and I can appreciate why people would prefer to invest in a Pendraken range.

I'll hold up my hands and admit that my deepest and darkest thoughts  :d  are actually that any Waterloo figures just get in the way of me getting the 1809 French Guard and German Allies that I'm hungry to the point of starving for  ;D. But I happily spent a good amount of time and effort on making up the British and Prussian lists because I recognised and was willing to contribute albeit in a very small way to what is a once in a lifetime anniversary.

I suspect most of us only have a very small inkling of how much is involved in putting a range together :-\

It does seem to take a long time from sculpts to release :-\

And we all know Techno et al take too long to get the sculpts done  ;D
