Lovely painting, this is a truly inspirational project!   A question from a flag/standard geek. I notice that you have different pole colours for your eagles, one black, one brown.  Is there a reason for this?  I had thought (although I cannot recall what led me to this!) that the poles were blue.

Very very nice.  Where is Bruyère?

He was a General of Brigade. I'm going to include corps and some division commanders (in my homebrew rules) but not GdeB. However, the colonels are there for eye-candy so there's no reason why a GdeB couldn't find himself on a base. But (sob) there are no Pendraken French generals anyhoo.

It may have been the case for the later Empire period and the tricolour flags but for the early Empire perhaps the best reference is David's painting which you can see in my Post 85. Following his painting, I painted the flag poles one red and the other blue (not black and brown :D ). Have a look at Post 152. However, David's painting leaves me wondering why the blue of his flags is not the dark blue so often used for French flags by wargamers   :-\  See my Post 86.
