Michael Scott! If there is one thing worse than a beautifully painted figure of a quality I can't hope to match it's the painter going "Oh dear! This didn't quite work!"  :P

So, the flag didn't drape quite as intended. What? The Austrians never fought if there was a stiff breeze blowing?  :-\

Beautiful job, as ever!!

As wargames services get ever more specialised are we likely to see "Tin Button Connoiseur" or "Epaulet Fringe Fancier"?

Great work Michael 8). I love the map in the first general's hand :).

Thanks for that, Steve. The idea is that it's folded over behind the half that can be seen. There's more detail in that pic than in the earlier post. A monochrome map seems harder to represent than a modern coloured map!

I hold you entirely responsible for my reduced painted output over the last couple of days. That blog of yours is amazing. Filled with little snippets of information on 'How I did this' this is why that happened. Riveting stuff.
Just one question -hopefully no-one has asked before- when do we get to see the terrain?

Excellent. Keep going.

Funny you should ask that. I got inspired to get on with some terrain at the beginning of February, just when I should have been thinking more about the painting competition! I was very fortunate to win some excellent 10mm buildings in the Painting Competition through the generosity of Total Battle Minis. I've ordered some more so hopefully Essling Village (version 2, 3 or 4) will be completed soon enough. If you go to the Blog Index www.michaelscott.name/1809/1809index.htm you'll see there are plenty of terrain items. My Big Plan is to put it all together by starting at one side of the battlefield and work across. At least, that's the plan!

My fault, I didn't phrase the question properly. I saw those as I was going through the blog but what I meant was for pics of all the terrain together with the figs on your boards as per map.

Yes, just the thing to break up all those monotonous rows of shakos. Brown or beige shako-covers also add a bit of variety, I find. Nice little model, Michael.

Lovely work, as always, Michael.....
Look forward to seeing those buildings painted.

Nice one!

Just a hint, put the TBM buildings through the dishwasher first, occasionally you get a building where the paint flakes off. A base coat of pva mixed with paint helps too!

Yes, I like the idea of a custom made village base. It knits the buildings together very neatly.  :-bd
