Excellent, as always, Michael. I don't think I've ever seen a mounted grenadier officer before. Is that a conversion?

I salute you and your past success! I fully expect to be as unsuccessful as I've always been. But it's the taking part that counts! Much better to join in the fun.

Just taken a look at the site Michael and can only respond 'WOW!' Looks like I'm finally going to have to dip my toe into the Danube Campaign.

Thanks! Sounds like a good plan! I have an ambition to dip my toe in the Danube itself.  :)

To be honest, it's not that blue.

And the current fairly rips along.

As I've possibly mentioned before, the late Bruce Quarrie was a member of our club back in the seventies. The rules that he published as the "Airfix" set leaned heavily on our club rules, originally written by Steve Tulk. I still remember games played back in those days where those in the know used open-order light cavalry to strip away skirmishers. What goes around comes around....

Very true points with the varnish.

Totally agree with the Vallejo varnish. Best matt varnish I've come across to date. It also doesn't react with the paint underneath - originally another reason for painting on a gloss coat before the matt layer.
