Not wanting to break any mess rules, what's the policy on announcing personal sales?

Serotonin

I'm not sure there is one. Leon and I had a discussion by PM a long while back and he was toying with the idea of a sales forum, but for whatever reason (lack of demand?) its not happened.

Personally I think its a good idea as I'm always after a bargain and often have left over figures from various projects I could off load.

Sounds to me that it could get FAR too complicated....and time consuming.
Are people going to complain to Leon if Mr 'A' s figures aren't as described ..... not packed properly....or never turn up.
Wouldn't be fair to make Pendraken the middle men....and have to sort out disputes, methinks....Without a really damn good commission !
Just my two pence worth.....

To be fair, Ive never seen that happen on any other forums that have sales threads.

Not sure what Leon's response will be but i'd be very surprised if Pendraken supported this.

This is a Pendraken forum, not an online 'boot sale', so why should they?

Ebay offers a suitable online sales environment.

Where i've seen private sales on other forums its usually a posted link to ebay.

Perhaps Leon might go for this but i can't really see the point.

Personally i pretty much ignore 'hey guy's i've got X for sale 'here'' threads anyway...

Ah. Wrong end of stick thing; I was more interested in whether I could announce eBay sales here as I do on other Fora (LOA, GWP, WD3 etc)?

I don't speak for the managament, but I imagine stuff like ebay sales would be fine if the forum had a disclaimer on it making clear that Pendraken took no responsibility whatsoever any aspect of the transaction. Another possible caveat would be that items in Pendraken stock weren't allowed, so that Pendraken aren't deprved of a possible sale. Items not in stock could be exempt. Eg Pendraken Roman Army Deal pack- prohibited, painted Pendraken Roman army- permissable, as a painted army is not something that can be bought from Pendraken.

Maybe this is getting complicated already.. :-\

Leon seems to have a way of simplifying the complex though...  ;)

Popping a link up to some eBay items is fine, no bother at all.  I actually did something similar myself the other day... http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,4925.0.html  ;) :D

A specific trading board has been mentioned a few times, but it's still not something we're looking to add to the Forum.  There's enough places on the interweb providing that service already, so we wouldn't be providing anything new.  As I've said before though, if people want to pop up a quick thread to get rid of some stuff, feel free, if it's freeing up some funds for more Pendraken-y goodness, we don't really mind!
