It takes a while for your eyes to shift.  If you can get your eyes to cross, then you should have the two images, and then a third one in the middle, which will be blurry.  Keep looking, and that blurry one should slowly solidify into a single image, which will be the 3D one.  Once you've done the first image, the others should pop up straight away without much hassle.
