Warning this wasn't for skirmish but for 1 base = 1 battalion and if using using Sci-fi rules to game 19th century conflicts offends you stop reading now  Smiley

I've used Future War Commander to play the 1859 Italian War of Independance. See http://www.flickr.com/photos/alanmillicheap/sets/72157622950074405/

As with BKC FWC has enough variables to give the opposing forces flavour ie stubborn, elite, assault and ranged attack values etc

The French had a doctrine where they had to advance but not assault if in Initiative range, the Austrians used Rigid doctrine

I did change the command process however.  Only Brigadiers had to do CV rolls - Divisional & Corp commanders rolled 1 D6 per turn to have a pool of Command Points that could be given to Brigadiers to up their CVs for a command roll

Thank you very much for taking the trouble to source this link.  Yes, looks very playable.  I might try fewer figures per base as Pendraken 10mm are just that bit more personality friendly that 6mm., and skirmish well. Sunray out
