Telephone guy with cable spool on his back.  Really.  After a steady dose or documentaries, US army FMs from the 1940s, and the Polish movie Red Rowan I am completely convinced that telephone lines were the normal form of communications, not the exception.  I would have one on almost all non-mechanized FO stands and battalion command posts.

Plus Crossfire has rules for cutting and repairing the wires on an FO's telephone line.  8)
