Nearly finished the third book of the series. Haven't been able to put them down. Best stuff I've read since Elric. Could also have interesting wargaming possibilities.

Anyone else tried the series?

Am I totally barking mad and just imagine it... but don`t Fantasy Flight Games do a boxed board/miniatures game of this?

I agree totally with you, I'm reading the ninth book. In Portugal this is the translation of the fifth volume (A Feast for Crows).
Lack me just to read the tenth book - The Winds of Winter, not yet out.

I´ve also manage to see the TV series - 10 episodes for the first season - excellent

There is a site regarding game of thrones in - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0944947/

Concerning to wargaming, I have a friend who have a board game on the games of thrones, haven´t yet played with it, but he saids it´s a good one for at least  6 players.

Read the lot, straight through and couldn't put them down. Very WOTR and Borgia style plot(s). Am now planning to turn some of my Warmaster figures into GOT Hordes of the Things armies - knew I'd find a use for that dragon one day. Series 2 is currently being filmed.

The board game is pretty good so long as you have several players - but if you've less than four players it loses a bit of the political intrigue and treachery aspect.

It's a bit like a medieval fantasy version of Axis and Allies but with lots of special cards you can play and with shifting alliances and the addition of political influence and it's uses.
