Congrats to all the winners! Great competition, great painting all across the board.

By the way, did you guys know there is a third winner in every category? It's Pendraken Miniatures.

Well done everyone - i've been following the entries in all categories closely and every one of them has superbly showcased the miniatures. It really is amazing what results can be achieved at this scale!!!

2011 Painting Competition - Runner-Up!

capthugeca

Well done, everyone. Good stuff!
Life is too important to be taken seriously.

On a personal note, I'd like to thank every single person who entered the Competition.  When you do something like this for the first time, you worry that it won't generate much interest, you'll get a handful of entries, etc.  For people to take the time to paint up nearly 200 entries was outstanding, and the standard of work was excellent.  I hope when people come and look through the threads, they can see just what can be achieved in this scale, and that it tempts them in!

And another competition in 2012 is a certainty!

And this was awesome, we are all really winners everyone on the forum because we were able to see some amazing painting and conversions done with 10mm minis !!! :o

And we got to see what can be done in 10mm painting wise and hopefully it has sparked everyones interest in painting more, I know it has bumped my level of excitement up a notch or two  :D

Thank you Pendraken for running the comp and looking forward to 2012, hmmm, maybe I should enter a Mayan figure or two since Leon will have them ready before then - nudge, nudge, wink, wink    :-bd

Congratulations to winners!  :)  There are some really great painters out there that have been ordinarily lurking. Hopefully this will bring them, and others, out into the light to share their efforts.

Wouldn't it be a nice idea to have the winner's pictures posted on the site front page, facebook?  Plus some select posting - let's call it subject sensitive - on some other sites with rulesets that accomodate 10 mm?  Thus WW2 tanks on WW2 forums, and so on...

Thinking of BKC, Black Powder, VBCW, and there certainly are a lot more

I think it'd be a powerful statement as to how well 10 mm can look.  The guy from the store here where I live has been trying to get me in FOW 15 mm for years, but I never bit because in order to have two companies plus the books you had to shell out 500 GBP to get started.  When I told him I went for 10 mm his reaction was:"But they're ugly".  No doubt there was some commercial message behind that but still this is a strong proof to the contrary: 10 mm can look sexy.

You can say that again. My sex-life has never been the same since I ordered a pack of Mahdist smooth bore artillery...  :-[
