Orkz above all! I've a big orc army for Warmaster and an army for HotT. Also I like the orks in SF setting.

Luddite

I'll vote for orcs/goblins again (especially the Tolkien originals - Ralph Bakshi's animated film captured them perfectly for me).

However, i'll also offer up kobolds.  Gotta love those sneaky little tykes...

In D&D I always had a soft spot for half-orcs, wargaming would probably plump for orcs -  friends of technology ;)

I think Lizardmen probably, but I like dwarves and gnomes too.

Duke Speedy of Leighton

Have to say it - has been and always will be halflings!

Let's put it like this:

Belker Bitterlaf; Merry Brandybuck & Perigine Took - Halflings of Distiction (let's ignore that whinger Frodo).

Melnibonieans second; Elves Third; Then Treemen, Rohirrim & Dwarves (Mountain)

Ralph Bakshi's Orcs - true to Tolkien`s ideas I think.

Not sure these last two count as `races`exactly but:

D&D`s Darkmantles and Umberhulks <---   but WotC really messed up on the Hulks in their 3.1/3.5 photos.

QuoteDwarfs, unfortunately they're often at a disadvantage in rules. (I'm looking your direction GW).

Unless the warhammer rules have changed a lot since i last played (which i admit is long time now) they have leadership 2 higher than humans, toughness 1 higher and weaponskill 1 higher, making them better then elves, orcs, humans or goblins - plus they have more elites than most other races.

I quite like slann - don't know why. Aztec frogmen should be ridiculous, but the background for them is interesting. From 1st to 3rd edition of Warhammer slann made up most of their own armies and lizardmen and troglodytes were a minority, but later ones the slann became only the mages/rulers/generals with the rest being lizardmen or skinks. Didn't like the later armies so much.
