I have resurrected my WW1 Middle East campaign but I am still lacking trains: all that is needed if a simple tank locomotive (suitable for all campaigns in the age of steam), one carriage type and a flat bed truck and some rails: it would suite for WW1, WW2, SCW and do on.   Any chance this could be added at long last?

We're still struggling with this one unfortunately as the costs of getting a train modelled and too high for the potential sales we'd see.  There's a load of N-gauge trains out there that might fit the bill though?

We will be looking at adding an armoured train possibly as I've got something up my sleeve there, and we might do some tracks for it to go on as well.

Even a 'kit' of armoured train upgrades to go on N' gauge models might be a winner Leon.

There's quite a few n gauge locos on ebay starting at 4.20, so there might be one in there suitable.

I have scratch built my 20mm trains. You should be able to get spare parts like bogies from specialist railway modeling shops - Huttons in Widnes being one. The locos came from a Del Parode part work, but that source won't work for 10mm unfortuneatly. Again stationary N gauge ones as Mark sugessted will do fine. The cars are easy to build but turrets more difficult - mine are hexagonal with some scrounged barrels, the front peice being a gun shield. My basis locos were Mallard (far too large for the 1 car) and a saddle tank. Armour was added with plasticard, but you could use thin card. If you can get hold of it the Osprey New vangaurd no 140 will give you some good ideas.

There is a thread on here with lots of piccys, but can't find it atm...

Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place (not unlikely with my computer skills) but I could find very little that was in any way suitable and prices were usually well into three figures: I think railway modellers must be much richer than elderly long retired wargamers!

Do any of these work for you

The second one looks similar to one I have (well its a steam train and green...) so can take a photo next to some Pendraken figures if it helps

The N guage on ebay are made by Del Prado. I have two on the way - a mid-C19th German loco for my Prussians and a Wild West loco. Sadly the N Guage rolling stock is for actual N Guage railways and costs a bit more than the Del Prado locos. The Boer War rolling stock might be useful for the Turks.

Thats whewre the Railway shops come in -they should have spare bogies for scratch build. Also check withn any tame railway modellers (a rare beast admittedly) who may have broken stuff and could be pursuaded to donate......

Looks like Yskang16 has sold out but there are some available here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classical-Child-Toy-Small-Retro-Steam-Train-Car-Alloy-Train-Model-Set-Pull-Back/383671602009?hash=item59549c0b59:g:1-wAAOSwdrdfMUVs&shqty=1&isGTR=1#shId

They sold those in ASDA a few years ago - so I bought a load.

I'm not a railway expert but they seem to fit in well with WWII and ACW.

The Del Prado N-gauge stationary models are excellent and relatively cheap. Choice is such that you can find one for every period you might want and probably only need to repaint them if you're really picky.
I'm stocking up on 'the General' for my planned ACW partisan game and scenery.

Cheers,

The railway model shop in Widnes is called Hattons. They ship all over the world. Here in the Netherlands there is a guy who sells N Guage products from a small business in his relatively big shed about 10K from me.
