Peter Lorimer, Leeds United and Scotland footballer (age 74). What a great shot he had!
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

Last time I watched football was 1973. I was a Leeds fan - Bremner, Sprake. Madley, Reaney, Cooper, Norman (Bites yer legs) Hunter,  Alan Clarke, Johnny Giles, Grey, Mick Jones (of the 1973 dislocated shoulder) and Peter Lorimer of the extremely fast shots. The Great Don Revie managing.

Heedless Horseman

Henry Darrow... 'Manolito Montoya', in 'The High Chaparral' western TV series. Age; about 88. The 'High Chaparral' was my favourite western series '67-'71... they got 'dusty' LOL! And a great Theme Tune, too! Think I may look for the old Airfix set! lol.   :(
(40 Yrs ago. I should have been an Angry Young Man... but wasn't.

Leeds United was one of my Subbuteo table-top soccer teams. I remember replacing a normal outfield player with a slightly crouching goalkeeper figure (this pose made the figure look slightly shorter than a normal outfield player) which I then painted with an all white strip and red hair (Billy Bremner!). Some of the other outfield players also got a long hair paint job! But I can't recall if I was able to get hold of another crouching goalkeeping figure for Johnny Giles (I have a feeling I eventually did)! :D

Ah, The High Chaparral! The only programme worth watching on a Monday night! Had the old Airfix box, too. Buck had a bottle in his hand! Not a bad innings for Henry Darrow.

'The High Chaparral' I remember as a kid and enjoyed and watched at some point in the '70's. Certainly a good innings.

Hello

Some of you, especially Antipodeans, may have come across 'Thommo the Lost' (Ian Thompson) in the wargaming blog sphere (https://thomo.coldie.net/). Unfortunately he has died from Covid complications in Manila, only aged 66. I came across Thommo while running some discussion groups and he always struck me a gentleman.

He was a member of our Club. I played a few games of HOTT with him before work took him travelling again. I have exchanged infrequent regular emails with him over the years . He was always ready to help or give advice on anything from Wargaming to best airlines to fly on.
