WW2 Russians and Germans in FULL Snowsiuts ...(but not the 'running full-out' pose...'try it' lol!).  ;D

Could be supplemented with 'Skiers'...though not what I am after, some may?

Bit to specialist to be commercial ?

Really? I'd have thought these would be good models to have - and you can probably use the same models for both sides (especially if they have their hoods up).

Soviet scouts have full suits.
Painted white would make a good proxie for snow suits.

More commercial, I'd have thought, than a French 1940 figure with a Boys ATk Rifle, or a Churchill MkI. :)

With regard to the Churchill - well Dave has a perchant for odd tanks, he has had the Vikers Independant made before now.

Well, you'd only need to buy one to represent the entire production of a single prototype  ;D

I would happily buy Centurions and Churchills of all variants - production models or not.

Agreed...BUT only ONE figure! :(

Newsreel Footage from both sides MAY have been propaganda showing 'GOOD' kit but I suspect that by '44 it might have been much more common...especially in Elite units.

AND...I just 'don't like' the Russian Quilted Khaki on battlemats with entire snow cover. ;)

On reflection I was wondering if the Finns in snow kit might be of use to you in this context?  I haven't seen them and snow suits generally are not something I know anything about.
