In an attempt at making Indian figures for my 14th army I must swap the heads on a few figures, notably to create turban headed bren gunners. Has anyone got any advice before I get straight in and make a another pigs ear?  Cry

I've done it loads of times.

I use a razorsaw and cut at the neckline then superglue the new head.

A little baking soda makes the super glue set quicker and seems to make a stronger bond

Keep your fingers well away from the glue and have some debonder handy Wink

Be careful not to get super glue and baking soda together on your fingers - it has quite a hot thermic effect. - I know  Sad

Not done that one, but I got a 'super hot' effect when I used a bit of kitchen towel to 'soak up' a blob of super thin Zap glue, from the back of my hand.....That smarted !!....And stuck the towel to the back of my hand !

As I understand it, at the moment of its discovery the researcher involved was heard to exclaim, “Oh super! Glue…”

Hence the name, which somehow stuck!

I trust you are aware that super glue was designed for sticking up bullet wounds. The fumes, particularly with the cheap pound land stuff can cause damage to your eyes.

Yup - that’s why the second phrase uttered upon its discovery, by an assistant IIRC, was, “Quick, pull you finger out!”

Anyway, I’m pretty sure that’s the derivation for that one  Undecided
