This link might be useful if you are building a French army which includes the coloured
Ordonnance flags.   If you scroll down, it has flag descriptions for the hundreds of
regiments raised by France, including many of the short-lived obscure units :

Pendraken have many of these flags in the LoA section.  Many of them are usable for the later periods too.

"Gentlemen, when the enemy is committed to a mistake - we must not interrupt him too soon."
Horatio Nelson.

The link seems to be dead unfortunately. :(

This site seemed so good as well !

Was hoping someone might pop up with a new link or a "Yes it has moved here" or even "I downloaded it all and put it in this handy pdf"!

(yes I know, I live in a fantasy world...)

Yes I can - partially anyway using Wayback Machine (a great resource for at least partially reviving old websites, IF they have been scanned by Wayback Machine over the years).

I can get into the main page with discriptions of all the flags, but the links to what I assume are pictures of the flags:

·        Les régiments belges au service des français

·        Les drapeaux dans l'armée française en 1791

·        Les drapeaux dans l'armée française en 1793

have not been saved (comes up with a 404 site not found error).

Hope that helps somewhat Scorpio

Though much is taken, much abides; and though
we are not now that strength which in old days
moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are.
