I need to decide on the skin colour for my Carthaginians, there seems to be a lot of 'debate' and not a lot of information online

I've experimented with Vallejo 874 USA Tan Earth highlighted with 843 Cork Brown on these 4 figures

Should I go with this colour or my usual 955 Flat Flesh / 845 Sunny Skin Tone for the bulk of Carthaginians :-\

Should I use 874 USA Tan Earth / 843 Cork Brown for Numdians or something a little darker (My understanding is that they are lighter toned than sub-Saharan Africans) :-\

This should be a simple question but unfortunately can take on unfortunate overtones (pun intended)

There are many who can pass easily for central Europeans. A bit of a tan, of course, but certainly not Tintin-like Africans or anything near them.

Agreed, at 10mm, and 3', flesh looks more or less the same.
Plus, crossing the alps, they would mostly be blue from hypothermia.

Look really good

Leon Please can you lock this thread down, I am desperately trying not to purchase armies for the Punic wars until I have at least finished the un-started Parthians.

This thread is not helping my self resolve  ;D ;D

Thanks, I think I'll go with my normal skin tones and reserve the 'tan' for the Numdians

Orcs :d ;)

Prepared the Elephants and most of of the cavalry for the next batch :)

I'll finish preparing the rest of the cavalry and then crack on with painting the current batch :!!
