OK, I've been here awhile now and love this forum above all others. And I know some of you are part of the Pendraken team, but i have no idea which ones? Can you guys identify yourselves for me? FYI, Just curious, no other reason.

Thanks,

Terry

I've been asking for a team photo for a while.

:)

You may need to clarify what you mean by "team". Techno, for example, is a freelance sculptor (available for weddings, christenings and funerals. Mostly funerals), but is also a moderator, so technocally (see what I did there) doesn't work for Pendraken but sort of does.

I make a lot of soldiers for Leon...Is that what you mean, Terry ?
Though I can't answer for all the folk in Middlesbrough, at Pendraken Towers....That's MILES away from me.
Nobby (fsn) has explained it very well.  ;D ;D ;D

You forgot that amongst his roles are  Team Pendraken first aider. Or maybe that's person using first aid the most.I forget which
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Techno

(Absolutely true....promise.)

I was a qualified first aider from the time I worked for BT, in the eighties.

I think I'd only have a 'reasonable' knowledge, nowadays.

From what I gather CPR has changed quite a bit from those days.
Then......The joys of tipping the head back on the 'unconcious' dummy to make sure the airway was clear (after checking for stuff like false teeth in the mouth...In a dummy ??).......Pinching the nose....Breathing into the mouth and making sure the dummy's chest 'inflated'...then after a few breaths pushing down on the dummy's chest......Repeat.

I don't think it's recommended doing anything other than chest compressions, now.

Someone here must be more up to date than yours truly.

Cheers - Phil

Yeah, hard & fast, I believe. To the beat of "Staying Alive".

That's exactly what I remember from some 'ads', from a few years ago......featuring that awfully thuggish nice footballer, Vinnie Jones.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'm the only 'official' Pendraken person who frequents the Forum, although Dave pops in from time to time.  The other staff don't really do much online so you won't hear from them here.

On the Forum though, we've got a group of extremely helpful volunteers who have the 'Team Pendraken' badge and keep an eye on things for us, so that includes sculptors (Techno, mart678, clibiniarium), painters (Andy Mac, Szymon), rules authors (Big Insect, Chieftain), web guys (stormrider, Matt), and good friends and long-time customers (mad lemmey)!

There's a lot of cogs in the Pendraken machine!

Have you listened to Leon's interview on the Battlechat podcast?

Found it - from 2013 so a little may have changed.

There's a few of us knocking about now, more than there used to be!

The business was started in 1992 by Dave and Lynne, my parents.  They slowly built the business up, and in 2009 I took a more involved role and started to look after the day-to-day running of it.  Dave still works full-time as a college lecturer, so he doesn't have the spare hours to keep on top of everything.  So, at the moment there is:-

Dave - Does all of our moulding, and builds our casting and vulcanising machines.  Casts most of the 20th C. ranges and decides which new ranges we're doing.

Lynne - Looks after the bills, and keeps telling us we need to sell more!  Packages the orders and does the Post Office run.

Leon - Looks after the emails, orders and paperwork side of things, website and Forum updates, new releases, etc.  I also cast Historicals and Fantasy/Sci-Fi.  Other random odd jobs as they come up, including pointing Dave in the right direction for which new ranges we're doing...!   Cheesy

Adele - My better half, who helps out with a variety of jobs, from packaging stock and orders, ordering stationary, getting gas, running to Staples for flag printing.

Stuart - Stuart was our first part-time caster, starting in 2010, and casts Historical stuff for us.  He is currently doing a university course, and is also a new dad, so he's a pretty busy guy!  He can be found on the Forum as 'Gandalf'.

Alan - Alan started with us part-time at the start of 2012, and casts Historical stuff.  He also looks after a lot of our contract casting work.  He has his own little business as well, Hoka Hey Wargaming (http://www.hokaheywargaming.co.uk/)  He can be found on the Forum as 'adr'

Matt - Our webguy, who built both the Pendraken and Minibits websites and keeps the Forum ticking over behind the scenes.  He's working darn sarf in Londinium now, so he doesn't get chance to pop by the Forum as much as he used to.

As well as that gang of delinquents, there's a team of 5-7 sculptors as well knocking about, some of whom have been known to frequent the Forum occasionally!

There's also the folks who help us at the shows, or with research for ranges, and everyone who helps us out on the Forum, etc.

That's more people than I thought there was actually, a lot of people involved in the Pendraken machine!

Here is a more accurate (or possibly tongue in cheek) reply. I have also included a few of the forum with some True??? observations!

Dave -  The tall dark one- Allowed to think he is the boss Occasionally seen on the stand at shows - more often away from stand socialising getting coffee - sorry networking.
Lynne - THE REAL BOSS - SHMBO by both Dave and Leon
Leon -  (AKA the Dark lord) Runs Minibits, Work-a-holic Vampire . Looks like a dwarf next to Dave.( sorry that slipped in Grin) posts on forum and answers emails at times when  the sane world is asleep.
Adele - Mrs Leon.(AKA M'lady) THE REAL BOSS of Minibits  SWMBO by Leon.  MUST be kept in dark about Totty Thread, or we are ALL in BIG TROUBLE  Cheesy
Stuart - Minion 1 Kept in chains at Pendraken HQ until required to cast figures. Occasionally allowed on the Forum as 'Gandalf'.
Alan - Minion 2 Kept in chains at Pendraken HQ until required to cast figures Occasionally allowed on the Forum as  'adr'
Matt - Pendraken  webguy, Mythical being who does arcane things to keep the website running.
Team of 5-7 sculptors, can be recognised by the specks of hard green putty on all their clothes and the number of cuts on their fingers where they have slipped with a scalpel. They have been known to frequent the Forum occasionally!
The cynics are right nine times out of ten. -Mencken, H. L.

Leon

Quite a few changes since then!  Lynne, Stuart and Alan don't have anything to do with the business anymore and we've added Mike and Scott to the casting team.  Rachel was with us for a year as well but she's moved on to a new job now.

Interesting Terry you should perceive us as "a team" .   I would suggest we have become a well adjusted community.  There is a lot of military knowledge in the Forum, some really talented artists and painters, there is  a desire to help, and .....a respect for the business/service that Dave and Leon have created.
Probably the best 10mm wargaming entity in the world.   The Forum allows us to be part of that.
