Not Pendraken but 10mm. These are from the only MAW range available that I am aware of, Cracker Line/Good Ground Miniatures. The Mexicans and some Americans are sculpted by Robi Baker. I am slowly building up the armies for Palo Alto.

Mexican 7th Cavalry

Mexican artillery

American Infantry. These are actually converted Mexican light infantry. I preferred these sculpts over the Americans in the range. I made some conversions to make them more American.

American dragoons. These are actually converted Union cavalry from Lancashire's Blaze Away 10mm ACW range. They were sculpted by Robi Baker, I converted them by lopping off kepis and using green stuff to make 839 forage caps. The US infantry command also come from the Blaze Away ranges and have been converted in the same manner.

Lovely work, very crisp colours!

Ithoriel

Very nice. As mmcv says the bright, crisp colurs are very effective.

The conversions to American troops is very well done indeed.

Is the flag hand painted? Looks good whether or no.

Thanks for the kind words! The infantry flags are paper. I forget what manufacturer, I usually toss all of my flags in a paper storage bin. The cavalry flags are all made from heavy gauge aluminum foil that I cut to size and shape. From
There I handpaint them.

Beautifully painted figures, enhanced by the bright colours and detailing 8).

lowlylowlycook

Very nice and colorful.

The cavalry in particular are real knockouts.

we are not now that strength which in old days
moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are.

Haha! Thanks for catching that typo error Pierre, I meant model 1839 forage caps but it seems I omitted the "1"! So far only about a dozen or so headgear conversions but there are many more in my future as I need to convert the rest of the infantry command figures, artillery gunners and some generals. All really simple conversions tho.

I read your blog and then updated my original post...look forward to seeing your American "flying artillery".......horse artillery at a guess since I know very little about the period?

Very gay and festive. Good to see something a bit out of the ordinary.

Not a war I have thought about, but this has made me wonder......  ;D Lovely paint job and they look very nice minis too. :)

Excellent stuff.  It seems an awfully long time since I painted any of my 15mm MAW figures, but one day I'll have them ready for FOB2.
