Use of resin for big APCs ?

Is there potential for more resin casts particularly in big modern APCs?  I ask only because our good friends at Time Cast (Barrie & co) are starting to knock out crisp BTR 60 bodies with metal turrets.

Does it impact on the sculpt depth etc? Or does the same sculpt work for both.

The other application would be to use resin as Peter Pig (the canny Martin) does for knocked out tanks etc.

Obviously the cheaper resin makes the finished model more price attractive, = more sales.

What's the pros and cons ?

Dr Dave

Cons - Bubbles, prone to bending if they get hot (left in sunlight) and very brittle
Pros - cost?

The resin castings I've bought recently have been clean, crisp and bubble free and, living in Scotland, the sunlight rarely gets warm enough to melt ice cream let alone resin :D

No problem with resin castings.  I have quite a few and they are fine, some vehicles, mainly aircraft.  No bubbles, no warping and they stand up to gaming as well as metal.
