Hi All,

I have a fairly substantial collection of WW1 and Russian Civil War figures in 6mm.  I am looking for a set of rules for battalion  level (or above) games, that are not too complex.  I used to use Principles of war, but was not overly enthused  by them for the Period.  Havve looked at Great War Spear head but these look fairly complex.

Any ideas of what might work?

Thanks

I have had some great games using 10mm RCW figures using Square Bashing. Very straightforward rules with a mini-campaign build up and a guarantee of victory for someone, but it may be crushing or simply a slight tactical victory. There are also a number of RCW army lists in the SB Army Book, and also the opportunity to build a post WWI Polish army or intervention army as well. Great period for open warfare and some AFVs plus armoured trains (6mm available from Irregular and a free Orlic on the internet to download and build.

I'v used Red Actions from the Perfect Captain (worth having a look at since they're free).

One of the things I have noticed about the Perfect Captain rules is that they seem to be aimed at those who like lots of micro-detail in their rules. Free but complex.

True. I usually simplify them a bit when I use them.
