Owls evolved between 38-54 million years ago.
Barn Owls evolved about 24 million years ago and once were three times their size.

The largest 'dragonfly'  that ever lived, had a wingspan of 30 inches....So they've shrunk too !

(It wasn't actually a dragon fly.....But it certainly looked like one.)
