If you want a nice piece of ancient scenery try this

Its about the right scale and takes paint well. I used slivers of slate from an old GW (yes I am sorry) basing set as the stones that had fallen on the ground and are only printed on the sheet.

I have one of those & it does look good. I created a slightly bigger base, and did a bit of work creating the flat stones rendered on the original purely as printed images. Slightly small for 10mm scale, the main stones are a very soft metal and need a bit of cleaning up, but, once I finish with a bit of paint and a lot of flock, it should look the part.
