Shouldn't Cadets be fetching our brandies, and Nobby's pills, rather than threatening us?
I have neither the time or the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

So who will the Russians fight in 1809 other than the Swedes ?

Britain as well - (at least technically and a great opportunity for an alternate history campaign in the Baltic)

Yes, but the Spanish army is so cool, lots of varieties of uniforms, colours and troop types, a sculptor's whet dream  :)

Probably not Techno's wet dream.

I would imagine his are more of the Welsh rain and hole in ceiling type.

Don't go there, with the amount of 'figging'  rain that's 'precipitating' here, at the moment.

Did it again last night, past the dragon on the A494, and the rains came. Every bloody time it rains when I go to Wales.  ;)

Its not raining every time you go. Its raining, you just happen to go to Wales. You are under the impression that sometimes it doesn't rain.

Re. Hungarian troops in helmets, I have acquired a source for the 1809 campaign (ESR's own) which shows all the Hungarian fusiliers in shako, as well as about a third of the German fusiliers. Another source I have (The Napoleonic Sourcebook) can't seem to decide whether the Austrian artillery wore helmet or bicorne, although ESR has plumped for the latter.

Those are higher ratios than usually are quoted but possible. Still the addition of Hungarians in helmet and Germans in When I pretty much extend this range from 1805 to 1814.

Artillery are universally depicted retaining the bicorne. I'm sure somewhere a unit appeared in helmets but it certainly isn't the recorded contemporary look.
