Blessed is the mind too small for doubt

Had my first game on the city board last saturday, and a first try of converting the terminator genesys rules to a zombie game. Went pretty well, but zombies turned out a tad to hard!

scenario was :

Police barricade on the outskirts of town, trying to contain the zombies. A swat team out on a patrol beyond the roadblock, crashes into a car containing a rag tag team of survivors (wth our hero max). Can they make it to the barricade and pull back with the rest of the police before the roadblock is overrun?

the table looked like this:
roadblock at the bottom, zombie herd on top.

the patrol and the survivors, next to their crashed vehicles (opposite corner of the board to the roadblock):

a herd swarming onto the board left of 'the car crash'

Cindy Chainsaw knocks down the closest zombie

seeing the herd at the end of the street, the group decided to go for the safety of the house

the officers at the barricade knock over just one zombie with long range fire

while a zombie from a nearby building stumbles out intotheir flank, but misses

he gets knocked down, but doesn't die (again)

soul man puts down a zombie while retreating to the house...

and promptly gets rushed by a second one, who caught him off guard. how long before he turns on his former buddies?

cindy chainsaw avenges him, while our hero max goes into base contact and grants mercy to his buddy (movng into base contact stops a dead survivor from turning)

all the noise draws more zombies from the herd

meanwhile the main herd is closing on the barricade (and in the right bottom corner of the pic, you can see they are still trying to put the zombie who surprised them down)

more zombies are drawn to the survivor group, now appearing from the other side of the street

barricade still being plagued by surprise zombie

our hero decides to use his command ability to activate his friends at the start of the turn...

... to get them inside before the zombies swarm them

only problem is that they are now trapped!

the guys at the barricade are getting pretty nervous!

trying to clear one side of the building doesn't go well, and an officer goes down.

someone goes in to stop him from turning

and now more zombies turn up here as well

and time's running out (surprise zombie still hanging on!)

start of the turn and both our hero max and the swat sergeant use their command abilities, activating 6 models at once

surprise zombie finally gets squished...

and our hero blasts a zombie in the face with his shotgun (and creates an escape opportunity on the side of the house)

while cindy chainsaw goes in to assist the cop struggling to hold the zombies out

meanwhile some nifty shooting at the barricade eliminates the closest threath

our group decides to leave before the opportunity s lost

zombies are already swarming in

only good news is that,on this turn, the new zombies arrive on the other side of the table

police is dong their best to keep the barricade zombie -free

max uses his command ability again

he and the sherrif make it out, but cindy tries to do the right thing and help the officer

while the other officer follows our hero

they will have to hurry!

cindy chainsaw pays dearly for her heroic actions!

our heroes see that they can't save the last policeman

and using his command ability again...

...max and co leg it to the barricade

the officer screaming in the distance

everone goes for the trucks as the barricade is about to be overrun

They made it, but not without getting in trouble!

Fairly hard to put the zombies down, will have to tinker with the stats a bit more. Was a fun game though!! Very tense and fun scenario!

In memoriam:

sould man, cindy chainsaw and two officers

It was! Frustrating at times though, those zombies needed a good kicking to put down.

Yawn - looks like a typical downtown Saturday night in many of our cities.  Cheesy

Really looks like a fun play and a great photo story, Peter.

I was curious about the pickup full of status chits, is that simply convenient storage or does it have some special value?

The recent excitement in B'ham city centre it's quite close, only a few too many guns.

Much more fun to game than to do in real life Wink
