I had Henry over for a gaming day today. He brought his 10mm Zulu War armies and we managed to get two games in, one before lunch and one afterwards. It was a simple scenario, the British had to escort a supply column across the table, or at least fight the Zulus off and prevent them capturing or destroying the baggage.

The British had 2 brigades, each of 3 infantry units, plus a single light gun.  The Zulus had 3 brigades of 3 warband units and a brigade of 2 warbands and 2 skirmishers (Head, Chest and 2 Horns!).

Sometimes I wonder - why is that frisbee geting bigger - and then it hits me!

This looks great! As I'm about to start a massive project on the Second Afghan War, using BP too, can I ask you about your basing? I'm considering using 30x30 bases with either 6 infantry in two ranks or three cavalry in 1 rank. You seem to have chosen a different approach, however. I'd love to hear your considerations...

Good looking games 👍
Is that a thumbs up, or a rabbit?

If it's a thumbs up, I've just had a great idea for some of the new Pendraken Zoo range.  :-\

Thank you all for the kind words chaps.

I'm a little wary of fsn having a "great idea"  :- :o

Cavillarius, Henry's collection are all based for a previous set of rules (I'm not sure what), but I must admit by double ranking the Zulus they certainly look good.
I'm just starting to paint French Foreign Legion and Tuaregs for BP and I'm going for 30mm frontages. Regular infantry will be 20mm deep, everything else will be 30mm square. The warband are 5/6 figures in a clump, the regulars will be in 2 ranks. Cavalry will be 2 or 3 figures, depending on whether they are skirmish or not.

Great to see BP being used for smaller sized games and some nice 'photos to boot :)

I'm a huge fan of the black powder rules, we use them for quite a few periods at the club

Take care

Just got a chance to look at this one, and must say some really nice looking armies! Well done!!! Have always been a  fan of colonial gaming, and have several DBA based armies for it.
