Hello everybody.
I would like to paint small armies for the 1898 war, using pendrakwn miniatures, and I would be very thankful if you can suggest me suitable references.
For the Spanish Army I am going to ACW's confederates. I have I'll have to sculpt some slouch hats on the minis wearing kepis, and may be one or two cartridge boxes, but I can live with that.
The problem is the USARMY and marines.

Any suggestions?

Hello Natxo

Maybe have a look at ww1 Australian without the upturned slouch hat brim (only picture I could find):-

You might have to remove emu feathers from the mounted and dismounted cavalry as well. but they might make a suitable arm's length proxy.

Cheers and good luck, I love a good proxy  :D

I used BW39 Naval Brigade for the slouch hats and (I Think) RJ3 for the Marines in their dinky caps.

Great ideas!
I will try those Australians for the UsArmy.
The RJW for the marines is also interesting, but I will try the army first.
