Wargames Definitions

Hi all, Just some definitions that I an sure you will all be able to add to.


Need/Want : These are interchangeable  - Wargames stuff  I have to buy
Enough:  I  probably need a few more......
Complete: Definition Unknown - No true wargamer has ever got to this point
Skinny: Someone who is not a wargamer 
Finished: When something is nearly, but not quite complete
Deity: Like religion you can choose yours, Donald Featherstone, Bruce Quarrie, Richard Clarke, Perry Twins, Phil Lewis.
The Dark Lord : the Highest deity in Wargames Circles
M'Lady: Owner of "The one Ring" by which she controls the Dark Lord
Evil Empire: Games Workshop
Shiny, Shiny !:  I am getting excited about these figures . Originally from shiny lead figures but applies to all figures
I don't need ...... Phrase used when you are not ready to buy into something YET!
I really don't need. Phrase used just before you buy something you had not planned to
SHMBO.  Abbr. She Who Must Be Obeyed:  Wife/Partner or Girlfriend. Note: for some wargamers these are a mythical beast. (See B.0)
B.O.  Something some wargamers  acquire as they seem to believe being a gamer they do not need to bathe more than annually.
Die: Nothing to do with death multiples of the numbered shapes you throw to determine what happens
Dave: Any person who thinks they are in charge or Someone who is always going for a coffee/pie/chips
Casting Dwarf: person who works for a Wargames company. (they may or may not be of a small size)
America/American: One who always arrives late, particularly in times of emergency.
Belgium: Place Germans travel through to go on holiday.

Wendy House the tendency for some wargamers to use buildings one scale down so that a town looks like a town rather than a wayside inn.
10mm figures the use by some gamers of a smaller figure scale so that a representative battalion looks like one rather than a small group of re-enactors out on the raz.
Oh come on! an utterance oft heard after the third consecutive roll of snake eyes.
Snake eyes a double one.
Jammy bastard an opponent's double six.
Edge of the world edge of the gaming area.
It's too expensive I think I can just about afford that.

As a foreigner, I don't understand this word. Could someone please explain this to me ?

Before anyone reacts with justifiable offence let me strike out and apologise for this cheap crack, which was only meant to refer to my own preferences, not to deride anyone else's. I blame the cider at lunchtime. Sorry.

I was sitting in on a lecture last week for military officers when the presenter opined that Belgium is not actually a real country. It merely exists to give the British Army a place to defeat the French and German armies!
