Hi
If an ifv fires so can the troops in the back. Can the troops fire at a seperate target or must they fire at the same target as the ifv if permited.

Cheers

In reality I doubt they would be able to fire to front only sides on soviet and the Bradley’s warrior no chance

In CWC / FWC we play that 1 base of infantry can shoot with small arms from an IFV to their front but at any target

Our reasoning is that as the bases represents a platoon then the infantry dismount, shoot and remount

Surely the ifv could fire at armour, whilst the infantry (firing from under armour through the ports) would have no effect on the armour, so they’d fire at other infantry for example? If they are under armour they can’t use IATW and could only fire to the flanks due to the location of the ports. Hence I’d say they can fire at a different target to their ride, but it has to be to the flanks. BUT, I’ve not got the rules to hand, and they may differ?

Firing mounted from an IFV is highly inaccurate, and used to suppress a target prior to a dismounted assault, The British Army discounts it as useless, and relies on the vehicle guns. I would tend to disallow it in any set of rules, and in CWC its built into the close assault rules.

What Ian says - it sounds like such a good idea, and in practise has proven about as effective as a lead balloon. If it really must be in, I'd suggest one dice with no range bonus etc max, soft targets only. Even then I think it's generous Cheesy
