Finally got around to taking a few pictures of the completed Gordon Horse....

All 6 troops:

Viscount Aboyne's Troop:

Lord George Gordon's Troop:

Marquis of Argyll's bodyguard bulked up with a rear rank of armoured pistolliers to properly show then as Dutch Horse in FK&P terms:

Also shows the flexibility of the sabot basing system we went with for our ECW project  ;)

I won't be seeing Paul tomorrow night so will be a couple of weeks till the next picture installment. This will give me time to get enough "tussock clumps" to do the rest of the stuff still to come and all the otherwise already finished troops.

Artillery pieces and bases now just await their guncrews. Started working on standards for the command stands - Montrose gets the royal standard plus his own one, MacColla the "Lord of the Isles" galley plus maybe one other as a nod to his service in Ireland. Not sure about the Covenanter commanders yet, maybe a blue saltire with the usual generic wording?

we are not now that strength which in old days
moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are.

Lovely as ever. The speed and volume of units getting out out here is impressive. Not to mention painting the same sets of figures consistently for long periods of time without getting drawn into another project shows dedication!

Now I just need to find the time to get them on the table and actually play some games with them.....somewhat ironically my table is currently jam packed with stuff in various states of completion from other projects....catch 22 purhaps?  ;)

Thanks, being a long way from suppliers helps ;)

I have got my next project lined up, some WWII cargo ships that were kindly 3d printed for me by Aksu :)
He only printed them about 17 months ago :-[

I have been thinking about my next next project and will be playing a test game later today using cardboard cutouts :-\
