These look really good.  :-bd

I've only ever painted highlanders in 6mm; the issue of how to paint tartan (or not) being a tad off putting. What technique did you use or decision did you make when it came to representing tartan at this scale?
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

Indeed, well done P&P! Worth the wait. First time I've seen the Pendraken flags used and they turned out rather good as well.

I picked pairs of colours that had fairly high contrast and painted stripes on top of the base colour. The stripes were vertical on the 'kilt' and near horizontal on the bit over the shoulder, basically running across the material. I decided against adding a third colour or trying to do 'checks'

Only the MacDonnells and Stewarts banners are from the PM flagsheet but came out well. The rest l made up in Gimp/paint. I will use the remaining ones with the second batch of highlanders in due course.

On to Gordon Horse next...then l can try out some Alford scenario ideas/assumptions.
