Wow!
Much as happened on this thread since my last visit. The Kiwi's are definitely all in! Thanks for posting the pics (yours and the game as well) and like the decision to make the Royalist standing regiments useable for Dunbar by switching out the command strip. Good looking units to boot.

The highlanders will also look good in that configuration, anxious to see them painted up. The sabot system that we all use will allow for multiple configurations.

Those standing regiments have based up well :)

The game was definitely enjoyable, sorry the Royalist right flank didn't last longer but Byron being forced to charge Cromwell's better Horse didn't help ;)

Looking forward to painting the Highlanders

Base coated the jackets & trousers of the 3 units of Covenanters ... grey :)

Next lot of covenant m & p units fully "prepped and piked" for delivery on Saturday.

Flags, bases and labels done for current batch.

Spent an hour on Google maps last night trying to make sense of the Battle of Alford.....there are many accounts but not two seem to agree entirely on where and what happened when. I found traces what I was looking for (boggy ground) so I think I know what approach I will take terrain wise for this game which will be the first with some of the new units once a few more are complete. The Roy Maps from the 1750's are very useful too.....thanks to the good folks at the National Library of Scotland for digitising them so that I can see them 12000km away.
