Don't worry Techno there will be plenty more pictures coming, even if there are only a couple(?) more batches to complete for the Cheriton game at Easter......

I've got "a few" more Scots units for Paul to paint up eventually, if he hasn't got sick of painting pike and musket units by now  ;)

looking forward to Easter.....we might be going to stay with my in-laws who live close to Kapiti College where Natcon is being held this year as other wise its about an hours drive from Wellington each day. Easter traffic is normally complete madness going up to the Kapiti coast.
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
we are not now that strength which in old days
moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are.

Doing the terrain for Cheriton will give me a bit of a break then I will crack on with some Scots :) :!!

I've made a good start on the hedges and our regular Saturday host, Roy, has done a great job painting my buildings :) :)

I've roughed out the map for the ridges so need to finalise that, cut out some foam for under the base clothes and work out how many hedges I need :!!
I know the current answer is more, just not sure how many more :!!

Staying up in Kapiti does make a lot of sense, there is access to the hall to set up on the Thursday night  :-\

I've glued labels on the first 100 extra chits I'm making for Cheriton :)
Only another 220 to go :!!

Wow.
What will happen once you have the entire ECW on a 1:1 unit scale?

With over 1,000 foot I've probably got enough figures for two 500 men battalia at 1:1 ;)

Which will need to fit in a 100 meter grid box (although you might want to use two boxes)  ;)
Your work continues to impress, Paul  :-bd =D>

(Still need pics of the varnished hedges, however. I can't stall much longer!  :D)

The grid box would need to be about 600mm wide, assuming 6 ranks plus officers ;)

You can see some varnished hedges in the first picture of this report ;)

Meant to imply real life, 1:1:1 scale, so roughly 600mm*160. In any event 600mm per box would be something to see (the large battles Mollinary does may approach that size  :-\).

Varnished the 100 labeled chits :)
Prepared some more chits :!!

Cooler weather today so I've:

  • touched up the base coat on the horses :)
  • dry brushed the horses :)
  • base coated the armour and helmets :)

Not quite, but Marston Moor with over 3,000 figures is 15ft long with 150mm boxes! A 30 x 12 box board.
