We won!! 8) The Highland Brigade a good day, capturing a village from the French and spiking the guns of a French foot battery, though the 7th Hussars got a bit carried away, but those French Hussars were in charge reach.......bugler sound the charge...tally ho  <)

Back to making smoke markers for Cheriton game.... O:-)
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
we are not now that strength which in old days
moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are.

Given the tight timeframe between now and Easter I've 'outsourced' a couple of tasks for this project

Pierre the Shy is making some smoke markers to show units firing :)

His good lady has already kindly made some bags for us to draw our chits from :)

Roy, the host for our regular Saturday games, is painting my Leven buildings :)

All this is letting me focus on:

  • getting all the troops painted
  • working out the terrain map
  • working out the troop deployment
  • making the hedges
  • making the ridges
  • making extra sets of chits
  • recruiting players

Still too hot for any painting ~X(

This run of hot weather is forecaste to break tomorrow night :-w

I managed to get enough motivation together to cut out a large batch of counters  :)

Six players have expressed interest in playing in the Cheriton game at Easter so we will have enough players  :) #:-S

24C at 9pm :o #:-S

I found a shady spot so I could varnish the current batch of hedges :)

I sanded the edges of some of the chits I cut out yesterday :)

I've prepared the flags for the current batch and will glue them once it has cooled a bit more, so the PVA doesn't dry too quickly :-w

Strike a light, Paul !

It's probably about minus 2C here, at the mo'.....Minus 10 in some parts of Scotland, overnight, apparently.
How do folk ever manage to survive in places like Siberia !!! :o
I think some our friends over the other side of the Atlantic are going through some horrendously low temps at the mo', as well.

I'm complaining, because I'll have to go and do some soldering upstairs in the pole barn pretty soon.
My poor little fingers are going to turn blue. ;D ;D

Yesterday was -19 C w windchill, -27 C. Warmed up to a balmy -11 C today w windchill -18 C. Not the coldest place over here by far.
Spring is coming.
Encumbered by Idjits, we pressed on

Hard for us to imagine such cold Bill. Just hope our cousins across the (frozen) pond are all OK.

I've seen some of the weather on both sides of the pond up north and wasn't expecting a lot of sympathy  ;)

Keep safe and warm guys :)

The weather has cooled down a bit, high of 23C today, so I have been a lot more productive :)

I've touched up the flags on the current batch :)
Too windy to varnish them, but less wind forecast for tomorrow :-w

On the next batch:

  • Armour dry brushed :)
  • Buff coats base coated :)
  • Buff coats dry brushed :)
