Welcome to the Pendraken Miniatures newsletter!

This month sees us recovering from some bad weather in the UK while also gearing up for the Salute show next month!  We've managed to get a load of releases sorted though and we've got some more previews for everyone as well.

Salute!

We'll start with the upcoming Salute, the behemoth of the UK wargames circuit!  This year the show takes place on Saturday 14th April at its usual ExCeL venue in London.  With over 6000 visitors and nearly 180 traders, this is the biggest event on the calendar and requires several weeks of preparation at our end.  As a result, we like to spread the pre-order message extremely early to make sure that people get their orders placed well in advance, giving us chance to get them cast up for you.

So to that end, we'll need all orders placing by midnight on Friday 6th April!  Please, please make sure to get them in as soon as you can as the weeks leading up to Salute are absolute mayhem and we don't want anyone to miss out on collecting their goodies.  As a quick anecdote, we had a chap about ten years ago who phoned us on the Friday before Salute, asking if his friend could pick up some items.  We had to explain that we'd already left and were probably at the venue by now setting up our stand!

More info on the show itself can be found on the official Salute website here.

Latest Releases!

After a quiet start to the year we've got the moulding machines warmed up and we're off!

> Aztecs - After many years of nudging, Forum member Fierce Kitty has got his Aztecs!

> WWII Belgians - This is just a small starter batch of vehicles for now, more to come further down the line.

> More WWII - We've also added some late-war British infantry and some more tanks!

> M46 and M60 - Moving forward to the post-war period, we've added the M46 and M60A3 tanks.

In The Pipeline!

We're focussing a lot of energy this year on clearing the sculpt drawers of all these pending releases, but there's still some more items arriving at Pendraken HQ to complete ranges that are still in progress.

First up we've had another two batches of sculpts for the Indian Mutiny, the first covering most of the British troops and then more recently the elephant limbers.  We've got another month's worth still to come, plus the artillery pieces, and then we can start getting everything into master moulds.

Elsewhere, we've now got all 165 sculpts for our new Korean War range!  We've just previewed all of these in one thread on the Forum, complete with descriptions.  We still need to sort out the mortars and artillery pieces for these ranges, but we're making good progress and we're aiming for an initial release in the summer.

Shows!

As mentioned above, we're not far away from Salute so make sure to get your pre-orders sent through in time!

Either side of that though, we've got the WMMS show this coming Sunday (18th March) at Aldersley Leisure Village in Wolverhampton.    It's too late for pre-orders for this one, but we hope to see some of you there.

With Salute out of the way, we'll next be heading down to the rescheduled Hammerhead show at Newark Showground, now taking place on Saturday 28th April.  This excellent show was sadly postponed due to the horrendous weather and subsequent road closures around the venue earlier this month.  The show has been moved back a few weeks and we're looking forward to going along to a slightly brighter and warmer event in April!  If you've ever considered going to this show, we can thoroughly recommend it for a day out!

Website Photos!

Just a quick update on this, all of the late 19th century ranges have been sent over to Kev Rouse to work his magic on them.  We should start seeing the first of these in the summer hopefully and we can finally get some images onto those FPW ranges!  We've also sent more batches of vehicles down to Jason at JAD Designs so we're looking forward to seeing those very soon!

New Casters!

Those of you who read last month's newsletter will remember that we've added a couple of new casting staff to the team and they've taken to the work really well so far.  It'll take some time for us to get them comfortable on all 200+ ranges but Mike and Scott are making good progress and most of you should start seeing much quicker turnarounds on your orders.  As we type this, outside of the WWII orders, we've got every order in the system complete and either posted or about to be sent.

We wanted to get down to a 7-day turnaround by the end of the year, so we're doing well on that front already.  So if there's anything you've been considering ordering, now's a perfect time to place your order and get your goodies in hand quickly!

And Relax!

And that's everything for another month.  We're production moulding some Napoleonic Hanoverians and KGL at the moment, plus the WWI extension, so we'll have those ready for you very soon.  In the meantime, enjoy the lighter nights coming in and place your Salute pre-orders...!
