They are really nice. This is a great project.

I just thought, looking back through the posts, the amendments toxicpixie mentions that Last Hussar and myself were using are for Black Powder, not Pike and Shotte (not having played Pike and Shotte I don't know how similar they are).

toxicpixie

Very similar, but P&S has separate units for the pike and shot elements.

TBH I think we probably had a bit of a mash up of the two going on, alongside the amendments :D

A small update on how I'm addressing levels of command for the GNW using Black Powder.

No pics of figs, but they are coming in the next update..honest.  Life....

fred.

Interesting ideas.

The extra commanders don't sound too over-powered. Not sure if they might be too effective if they always end up at the point of the advance - but I suppose that is the point. Perhaps you could limit the intervene order to a double order, not a triple?

A nice little post on rules tweaks. Ages since I played BP, but really should give them another run out...

Not for late 17th century, they have single units with Pike Company special rule (I also use it for ECW)

Yes, that sort of gets disappeared for then - you can get bayonets and pike companies and there's another "pike stand" rule isn't there that's like the Pike Company?

Been a while since we played and tbh I think we may have gone "full tool box" and used the BP amendments and bits of stuff and things from wherever :D
