1) What ruleset do you use in your last game? - Eagles of France, boardgame from Hexasim
2) What armies were confronted? - napoleonic French v Prussian, an action at St. Amand from the Ligny game
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - mostly
4) and... was this the first time you used this ruleset? - No
5) How many players were in the game? - Two
6) What went well? - A good feel for the subject, enlarged hexes gave room to manage the forces quite nicely.
7) What could have been improved? - I allowed the Prussians to hold places for too long, so they got outmanoeuvred and destroyed. They should have though more about giving ground and simply frustrating the French time-table, rather than trying to deny certain VP hexes.

A lot of great eye-candy there, Andy!  Thumbs up

At the risk of upsetting some other readers with their 'button counter' sensitivities, I didn't see any British in the "Prussians v. British" SYW game - could only make out Austrians v. Prussians in the link. Only saying this in the hope there is an actual "British v. Prussians" game and you'll post more eye-candy(!).  Cheesy

1. Square Bashing
2. Russians v Turks 1915
3. Very
4. No
5. Three - one Russian, one Turk plus advisor to this novice player
6. Novice picked it up after about two turns. Game played well and very smoothly to give a definite result after about 2 1/2 hours.
7. Russian outnumbered defenders defeated, but after completion of the victory table it transpired that this was only a minor victory for the Turks.

1) What ruleset do you use in your last game? - General Quarters 1/2
2) What armies navies were confronted? - Royal Navy V Kreigsmarine
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - Yes
4) and... was this the first time you used this ruleset? - No
5) How many players were in the game? - 4
6) What went well? - For the Royal Navy not a lot, lost a heavy cruiser and 3 destroyers in return for a single torpedo hit on the Tirpitz, which did absolutely no damage  Sad My Albacore torpedo bombers likewise got hammered when they finally caught up with the Tirpitz. Paul's battleline did manage to inflict enough damage on Tirpitz and Scharnhorst to force them to return to Norway but no German ships were sunk. Overall the scenario that I put together was well received and we had a entertaining evening which is what gaming is all about.
7) What could have been improved? - My rubbish dice rolling reputation was further enhanced  Lips Sealed

If we hadn't lost so many Albacores (7/12, the other 5 driven off) we could have claimed a tactical victory Wink

A very balanced scenario that I definitely enjoyed, the Germans seemed to enjoy it as well Smiley

Best quote of the night was one German commander asking the other "Have you left me anything to fire at", the only ships in range were the sinking British 'heavy' cruiser and destroyers Grin
