Moved on to Borny-colombey with my regular opponent in 10mm. Once again, I provided the battlefield and he provided the figures and two enclosures to represent the forts. My initial set up before figures and forts.

Report proper:

The above shows the field of battle before troops and forts were added. Next is the first troops on the field:

The representation of the Guard Corps:

The end of the fight around Colombey:

More and more Prussian troops arrive as the French begin pulling back towards Metz:

Prussians now began arriving from the south. An unlucky French march column was taken in flank by Prussian cavalry. It saw them off, but took casualties and became disordered:

French lancers in their turn drove back the hordes temporarily, but then found themselves in the valley of death:

As even more troops marched on the French guard put up a fighting withdrawal, but Colombey hill had been lost. The French managed to get nine units off the board, but victory went to the Prussians.

Like it, thanks, Andy! Commiserations to the French. I do like Borny-Colombey as a scenario, it's one that really can go either way and produces nailbiting tight finishes. I hope you and your oppo enjoyed it.
