Whats the best way to resize pics that are sourced from a hosting site?

I started the Historical photos thread and some are crazy big compared to the rest, so I need some guidance!

HTML, BBCode?

Whats the preferred resolution for the threads here?

Thanks!

If you add in width=800 at the start of the img tag it will shrink it to a good width.

Like the below

[ img width=800 ]

but with no space

I think I've already posted this elsewhere on the forum recently but you can also do height= as well as width=

Personally I prefer 750 to 800 for width but that may be because I'm on an old Iiyama 19" screen!
