Another terrain attempt: A house and a garage building

Here's some houses that finally made it past the garbage bin:  I got my hands on a bag of building pieces in a variety of RR gauges, from the incomplete goodie box at the local modelling store.  Things the average railroad amateur won't even look at, considering there's half houses in there, and every bag is without label, box, and missing a wall, or more.  I bought about 7 pounds worth of windows, roofs, and other stuff, that is gonna go a long way in helping me make some decent terrain.

I enter my blog link, considering the pics are way too large again to just put them here.

Assuming that you are talking about weight, and not cost, that's a very good haul! Now where's the Santa smiley with a very large, bulging bag on his shoulder...   ;)

Forgot to add: Looking very good!  8) Did you use foamboard and add some bricks from the building bits you bought to get the hole in the wall effect?
Water is indeed the essential ingredient of life, because without water you can't make coffee!

Thanks for taking a look.  It's foamboard alright, but no bricks, I just scored the paper of with a sharp knife and used a sharp toothpick to sculpt the stones in.  It's not perfect, but on this scale it works OK.

If only I knew how... I have some two component silicon for simple recasts, but for this you need to rotocast, I haven't got the tools for that.

We're always looking for more scenics, so you could always send us something, we'll mould it and add it to our catalogue, and we'd sort you out some castings for your trouble.  These particular ones could be tricky, as there is quite an overhang on the roof which could cause problems with air pockets.

The roof is detached.  I prefer that so I can have units inside buildings as well.  I take it the original model cannot be saved?

There wouldn't be too much damage, depending on how strong it is.  We use a silicon moulding method, so as long as the model can be pulled out of the silicon once it has set, then it would be fine.

OK let me finish the other houses I have planned, and then we can have a look.
