thinking about doing some 3mm modern forces Europe and middle east, how are people doing it ? everything at 1:1 etc or a different ratio

Just looking for ideas, any info on OOB's etc would be useful, don't want to get bogged down in details

I'd be doing something platoon scale, but with multiple models per base - preferably one per actual real tank in the platoon. If I was doing yet another project I won't get finished, which I'm not :D even if they look really nice...

I'm doing 3mm WW2 NW Europe and intending to use BKC.

I'm basing platoon sized elements on 40x20mm bases with a roughly 1:1 number of models per base.

Works for me, so far.

Chap on this blog (James) has used 3mm Oddsial Osmy moderns for Team Yankee rules. Quite the number of photos and written info if you scroll through the earlier posts on the 3mm thread.

My local club (that I'm not a member of) did this modern 3mm display game that did the rounds last year. Here are some pics from their website if you are interested.

I have a slow burning 3mm modern project.

They two forces will represent imaginations set in the Middle East, one Soviet equipped and the other western, Chieftains,  AMX30s etc.

I aim on using CWC.

I use FOW style medium sized bases for the standard unit which represents a platoon, with the correct number of vehicles on it.

I've attached a couple of pictures of my T64s and BMP1s

Thanks for the link!  Hot air balloon fights on the page was a surprise for me!

I intend to start a NATO and Ukraine vs Russia project in 3mm shortly. I will base by platoon, with 3 or 4 tanks or 12-15 soldiers per platoon base, I think. I will likely use 20x40 and/or 25x40 bases as they're what I have.
