Some adventures in 3mm prompted me to look at these neighbours .  In the post war period - late 50s - Dominican army were in German helmet (Haiti in US gear)

Is there any images of the colour of this Dominican kit ?  It looks light tan in b& w .

I am thinking redundant WW2 Germans  could live to play another day.  :)

Hello

Not much information around.

Have a look here http://uotw.heavenforum.org/t742-dominican-republic-uniforms-ww2?highlight=dominican and here http://uotw.heavenforum.org/t108-german-helmets-worn-by-dominican-republic-army.

My guess would be faded USMC or US army surplus uniform/kit. Here's some pics of Columbian troops in similar gear from the 30s:-

Here's a b&w with the description - "Late 1950s Dominican Republic soldiers with stahlhelm M53 helmets, NATO-standard FN FAL assault rifles, and American M1936 belts from WWII Lend-Lease."

Thanks Vic.  The hassle will be getting some variation in the light sand coloured uniforms between the combatants.  The Dominican German style helmet does look dark - too dark for grey (this reminds me of watching snooker on a B&W TV !) It might be dark earth ?

I was watching Death in Paradise last night and was inspired by the Saint Marie's Police Chief uniform - rather than being a prisoner of historic confines - the fictional Isle of St Marie will be the setting.   Threat from a more belligerent neighbour, WW2 surplus kit (M3 'Honey' tanks) BKC rules and .....lots of palm trees & blue water.

Possibly American Olive Drab on those bone domes?

Looks like they both might have worn it  :).

Maybe you could write a special rule for mistaken identity/recognition/friendly fire -  :D.
