Exactly 100 years ago, the first american soldiers  arrived in St Nazaire to help the french and the british armies.



The boats  "Havana", "Saratoga, "Neptune" and "Seattle"


( Nantes - my city - and Saint Nazaire - not far away - were the first place where they landed. Soon there were many camps around this area ( with real department stores, specially  built for the soldiers )
Saint Nazaire became an even  larger base at the end of the war, for the return of the men.
