Would like to put in a suggestion for potential retreating and routing generic infantry (specifically AWI/nap).
Infantry in poses such as dropping their rifles and gearand turning around or just sprinting while looking behind at the incoming enemy for example.

Idea is that these could be used as casualty / routing markers or to depict conscript infantry or just for a firing line diorama

Agreed.

I've always thought it odd that you can get Spanish Napoleonics charging etc... but none "faltering"

Good idea +1

I tackled this in 6mm for my BBB FPW armies by using the routing troops from the Irregular 6mm ACW range.

Yep, I have a few of them meself, use them for a number of different periods. Their dead chaps and horses are also useful.

Couldn't you use Charging troops pointing the other way?

I use the "old" 1859 Austrian Grenzer  as - in a charging pose - as fragile / spent markers for Bloody Big Battle
