Link shows the cemetery in Trutnov (Trautenau) in 1876. The obelisk on the hill is the Gablenz monument, hollow cast iron with a stairway all the way up to the top which opens allowing spectacular views of the surrounding area. Notice how sparse the woodland is on the slopes, today that hill is densely forrested. The arches in the foreground are now filled with memorial statuary, some of it very fine indeed.
