2014 Painting Competition - Winner!

Well I've emerged from my deep freeze and my Guildford Courthouse project is finally back on again. First I had to do an audit of the figures and tonight I've undercoated those that will make up the balance of The 2nd Maryland Regt. Sorting out the makeup , nomenclature and uniforms of the Continental Regts at GC is a bit of a nightmare, I suspect no one knows the right answer..










So this is now the painting project at the top of the queue. Other than a brief planned diversion to do some Undead in March I will finish all my forces to do GC at 1:10 in the next couple of months. Currently outstanding are

2nd Virginia (or 5th depending on who you believe)
Balance of 1st Maryland and 2nd Maryland
Lee's horse
Top-ups for 33rd, 23rd and van Bose to convert them from 1:20 to 1:10
British Legion cavalry
RA 6 pdr
British Guards in proper uniform to replace the 1768 warrant figures I've currently got painted

At least I've got all the militia done .....

Yes it's a minefield. Most accounts just say 4th and 5th VA. The British Grenadier scenario says 1st and 5th. Babits (who I normally trust) says that is the 1st and 2nd and that other references to 4/5 are erroneous though frustratingly he doesn't give his source. The GC national park service say  1st and 2nd but that they are state line troops not continentals !  Not that any of it matters but of course but even so , I think all troop deployments in war zones really need to consider the needs of future Wargamers.
