I'm slowly (very slowly) painting up both sides to do GC at 1:20 using British Grenadier - using the OOB from the back of the rules. Apparently the new scenario book will change the OOB and make it a 1:10 game but i don't think i'll have the will to change my plans!!

Here's my progress so far - i'll put up each unit as i finish but dont expect regular updates :) Simon

Very nice i wish i had more time to paint, i might have complete all my AWI figures by now
Only another 40+ battalions to go and more artillery and cavalry :'(

These look damn fine Simon ;) I'm a big fan of AWI and have a very large collection of 15's which just dont see the light of day because I cant find a rule set I actually like :o
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

*Very* nice indeed Simon...very nice  8)

nosher: have you had a look at R&F or BP yet? Or Bob Barnetson's WM variant? Worth a look...

Those Jaegers are a real favority of mine.  I am really impressed you went with the striped pants for the Bose regiment and the red and white band on the Highlanders.  Looks very nice and I am sure took quite a bit of time.

Impressive paintjobs on such tiny models!!

Those are class!

Where did you get the flags? (I have a feeling elsewhere you've said you hand painted them?)

Leon

I've gotta say I was impressed with the stripy pants as well!  And if you've handpainted the flags, even more so.

Hi guys - thanks for all the kind comments. The flags are handpainted (i couldnt find any printed ones that i liked - sorry yes i know Pendraken do some :)  ). I normally find a similar flag online (from somewhere like Warflag) and print it down in a very faint grey (sort of like doing a tracing). Then over-draw the key features of the flag using the print as a guide/template with a black micromarker pen and paint the colours inbetween the black lines. Surprisingly its not as difficult as you think - after all a British flag has a surface area bigger than 2 x 10mm figures so the detail is larger than trying to paint detail on the figures at times.

Captain Verbeek

your attention to detail is great. The stripes on the pants and the highlander checks are great.

Final batch of the Brits are now complete (except of course for the generals. Did i mention that it would be nice to have generals :) ). I'll be taking a break now  from AWI to catch up on some other projects but then i'll be back to paint up some bad guys for this lot to fight ....
