Those look great, Daz! When do you expect both armies to be ready, or at least enough of them for you to get your first game in?

Love the guns and the cavalry show a careful eye - this is going to be a fine collection.

Fantastic brushwork. A period I've always wanted to dabble my toe in too!

V Corp & both Cav divisions of the 3rd army are basically there. Württemberg division is being started & the Bavarians will be en route to Kev shortly (2 divisions, 1 from each Bav Corp & the 2 Cav divisions plus 1 lot of Corp artillery).
Then it's XI Corp & the 1st Guard div.

Then for the French I'm looking at the Army of Alsace primarily 1 & 5 Corp & probably the Guard Corp. But I may substitute 5 Corp with 2 Corp from the Army of the Rhine.

Thats my cunning plan & my target date is before 2018 🙄😂

Then I will play! I realise I won't be historically accurate for all the battles but I'm not overly worried, it's a period I have always wanted to do. 👍

Cheers for all the kind words btw!

Historical accuracy? My 1870 French have proxied as Peruvians, Crimean War Brits as redcoated Paraguayans, Crimea Russians still serving in 1877, and right now I have 1877 Turks on my tabletop masquerading as 1849 Hungarians ... Just get troops on the table and get some games in!

Ditto, my 1866 Saxons double as 1870 Bavarians, the flags - Pendraken of course - can be slipped over the flagpole and replaced depending on who they're supposed to be. Admittedly they're in caps and not the rauphelm (sp) but who cares, its 10mm and I'm half blind.

1st Corps is a must Daz, all those spiffy Turcos and Zouaves, also if you're playing French, they fight like blazes. Pendraken Guards look very sharp, particularly the new 'bonnet a police (sp ?)' sculpts which really are a credit to the sculptor. I compromised with a regiment of Voltigeurs in the bonnet and a regiment of Grenadiers in the bearskin - couldn't resist - oh, and if you're looking for French light cavalry, the Chasseurs D'Afrique paint up magnificently  :D
Don't buy your daughters a pony, buy them heroin instead, its cheaper and ultimately less addictive.

Lister: "Oh God, aliens... Your explanation for anything slightly peculiar is aliens, isn't it?

Rimmer: "Well, we didn't use it all, Lister. Who did?"

Lister: "Rimmer, aliens used our bog roll?"
