 :( :( :(

Doubly sad coming so soon after Murray Ball
Lord Lensman of Wellington
2018 Painting Competition - Runner-Up!
2022 Painting Competition - Runner-Up!
2023 Painting Competition - Runner-Up!

Kiwidave

Yep - both legends. My personal favourite of Clarke's was the Fred Dagg version of "We Three Kings" :)

Sadly for us Aussies as well.  He and Bryan Dawe presented an insightful but oft times hilarious political satire segment each week on the Australian ABC News website.  These will be much missed for mostly taking the P!$$ out of our politicians regardless of their persuasion.

His iconic line, "Well, bye" seems an appropriate epitaph. Some really great roles in his career.
Encumbered by Idjits, we pressed on

No.....He appears to have thought that holding back that information gave him some sort of power...and that that meant he 'won'.
He also believed that the crimes he was convicted of were 'trivial'.

Lord Kermit of Birkenhead

I suspect he didn't know. Saddleworth moor is a bleak and gloomy place.

I loved catweazle as a boy, especially his 'electrickery'.

Combined with as Techno says the thrill of dangling relatives and police around by not saying, I suspect you're right.
